Today is my first day at my new internship with the Mercury Fund! They are a venture capital firm that focuses on advances in technology. Today I am working on a website teardown of a company they previously invested in. My job is to identify the purpose of the company, look at their design and content, and the overall basics of the site. The basic questions I need to be asking during this process are the following:
1. is there a value proposition?
2. is there a main call to action?
3. is there a way to get in touch with the creators?
4. is there some sort of social proof?
5. is there an overview of either the process or product itself?
6. is there a way to learn more about the creators?
One I have determined this and answered these questions I can move into the "conversation test," which is where I will determine for myself whether or not this is a product I would use. Next week I will be turning my teardown into a formal presentation!
